More than 32,000 classrooms were destroyed across Nepal when a 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck on April 25, affecting almost a third of the 28 million population. A second quake of 7.3 magnitude on May 12 has hampered efforts to rebuild. Many communities are forced to be homeless. The government efforts on combating these challenges are all most nothing as response to the situation people are passing through.
The nexus of field workers in Kathmandu claimed that there were around 400 Street children before earthquake hit severly on 10 different peripheral districts around Kathmandu .These places were supposed to be a source place of street children from where child were supposed to migrate Kathmandu because of several social, Economical, and Psycho-social reasons. The number of slum dwellers could grow significantly and the number has already increased in some of the places. The Slums in Kathmandu are regarded to be the most vulnerable place for a child from where child are easily exposed to Street life.
